Lyrics Generator 🎤
When you open the Lyrics Generator, whether through the UI or toolbar (June -> Version -> Lyrics), you will be presented with a new window with a few settings. This is where you can make a spritesheet to display animated lyrics. Because this was a feature added in the 4.0 update, the 4.0 update trailer here has a good preview on what it looks like. The file generated here is expected to be used with the Overlay effect, which you can learn more about here.
Lyric Sheet Settings
- Sheet Name: Name of the file that will be saved.
- Save Location: Where the file will be saved.
- Frame Size: How big each frame of the lyric sheet will be. This is the size of each individual lyric frame, NOT the entire sheet, so please be mindful this will be stacked multiple times and may make a REALLY large file.
- Font Mode: You can either use installed fonts on your system (
Built in Families) or specify a custom font file (Custom File Font). If you chooseCustom File, you will need to specify a font file in theFont Namefield rather than just a name. - Font Name: The name of the font you want to use. If you are using a custom file, please specify the file here.
- Font Size: The size of the font.
- Font Colour: The colour of the font.
Lyrics Panel
Here you can add lines of lyrics. They will be added to the sheet in the order they are created. You can hide lyrics with the arrow in the top left and delete them with the X in the top left (or the Delete All button).
Generate
Make sure you note down the expected columns and rows if you don't want to count yourself when entering in June. Just hit the Create Lyrics button and you're done!
Unity will compress large textures, such as spritesheets, by default. You may want to change the compression settings in the inspector for the texture to make it look higher quality and more readable.
